Position Summary

We are looking to enhance our Power BI offering by adding a Power BI guru. Our SaaS offering includes several sets of canned reports which are presented in Power BI and connected to a data warehouse. We currently have a set of pre-built reports which this position is responsible for designing and building. We’re looking for someone who is comfortable using features of Power BI including building data models, DAX, and appropriate visuals based on specific report requests. Candidate should feel like a report stakeholder and be able to advocate for report design best practices.

Responsibilities

  • Build Power BI Datasets (using existing data warehouse)
  • Build new reports based on client requests
  • Enhance existing product reports
  • Assist colleagues with ad-hoc reporting

Skills

  • Required
    • Working knowledge of SQL, DAX, M
    • Hand-on modeling and report building experience with Power BI
    • PowerQuery/Transform experience
    • Dashboard experience – KPI reporting
    • Design skills – look and feel, color selection, appropriate visual selection
    • Candidate should be comfortable building ad-hoc reports interactively with a product manager
  • Preferred
    • Experience building reports using Tableau
    • SSAS experience
    • Excel skills – Pivots and ability to translate Excel workbooks to Power BI reports
    • Financial industry experience
    • Paginated report experience
    • Q&A
    • Power BI admin experience (including API/PowerShell)
    • B2B AAD integration
    • Spark/PySpark or Jupyter Notebooks development
    • Experience in Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning

    • Experience incorporating external data into existing datasets
