A recent addition to Tamarack, Aaron Jackson has hit the ground running with his work as a data analyst on Tamarack’s artificial intelligence team. Born and raised here in the north, the subject of this month’s “Get to Know…” is a Minnesotan to his core.

How did you make the connection to Tamarack?

I had never heard of Tamarack until a few months ago. I was looking through job postings on Indeed when I saw a data analyst position and connected with Tim Appleget. Before Tamarack, I worked as a data analyst for an online university, so it’s safe to say that the world of equipment finance is a change of pace. That said, it’s not new to feel like I’m making a difference as a data analyst. When working on Tamarack.ai, I feel like the data I’m working with really matters.

Why did you choose to stay in Minnesota?

I’ve always loved it here. I was born and raised here, I went to college here, and I have worked here. I can’t imagine living anywhere else. I love seeing the seasons change throughout the year and enjoying the different activities each season brings. There’s nothing quite like Minnesota lakes and trees.

What do you enjoy doing outside of work?

Aaron Jackson travel

My wife and I enjoy traveling so we try to visit new places as often as possible. Most recently we took a couple of trips to the Florida Keys and Montana. When we can, we try to go places where we can spend time hiking.

I also love to golf. I began golfing competitively when I was about 15 years old and have loved it ever since. I try to golf as much as possible and play in tournaments throughout the summer. When I’m not golfing, I do a good bit of fishing, and when winter hits, I switch to ice fishing.

What is your favorite season?

Aaron Jackson fishing

My favorite season is fall. The weather outside is perfect, the leaves are changing color, and it’s not too cold or snowy to play golf. It’s also the time when I start to get excited about ice fishing.
