June in Minnesota finally brings summertime, which typically is jam-packed with outdoor activities, sports and peak wedding season. For Tim Appleget, Tamarack’s director of SaaS products, this summer has all three.

In this edition of “Get to Know…,” we sat down with Tim to talk all about his summer plans and busy life outside of Tamarack!

How did you make the connection to Tamarack?

I met Dan while I was working for Wells Fargo in the early 2000s, when Tamarack was contracted to help Wells Fargo build a data warehouse. We continued to work together and build a relationship over the following years.

During the pandemic, I began looking for a career change, and Dan approached me about a position working for Tamarack.

Why did you choose a career in equipment finance?

When I moved to the Twin Cities after college, my first job was with Norwest Bank (now Wells Fargo) working in equipment finance. I really enjoyed seeing the ways that I could not only add value to the organization I was working for but also to the businesses I was assisting.

Tell me about your life outside of work.

Tim Appleget family wedding

My wife and I have four adult children and two sons-in-law who are a big part of our lives. Only two of our children live locally, but we have the whole family in town currently for my youngest daughter’s June wedding. Understandably, right now our days are filled with wedding preparation and festivities.

I’m also involved with our local church where I have been a member for more than 30 years. I have been a group leader there for the last few years, so I spend a lot of time attending to and caring for those in my group.

What outdoor activities do you enjoy?

Tim Appleget on the Mississippi

During the spring and summer months, I enjoy gardening as well as pickleball, tennis, golf, going for bike rides and hiking when time allows. My kids all played soccer, baseball and softball when they were younger, so we’ll go to the fields and play from time to time. I’ve never been as much one for winter sports, but I do some occasional cross-country skiing, and we like to go snow tubing as a family every year!
