At Tamarack, our foundation is people. Without great people, we wouldn’t be able to do what we do. Tamarack has been lucky to have amazing employees join us over the years, and we think it’s time to introduce them! Every month we will feature an interview with a member of our team so you can get to know them better.
To kick off the series, meet Andy Hedstrom! Andy joined Tamarack in February to lead the development of our growing sales team.
Where were you before Tamarack?
I spent nearly 30 years as a sales representative for companies that specialize in school products. While the core of the sales process remains the same, meeting people’s needs, I’m excited about learning the intricacies of the equipment finance industry. After coming from a field where product demand has been on a steady decline, I am exhilarated by the high demand and growth going on at Tamarack.
What do you think of the equipment finance industry so far?
I’ve been impressed by two things overall. Everyone I have met has been so willing to discuss their business needs. They openly welcome growth and change, and are ready to address challenges. They share issues so they can find those agents of change that will help them improve and become more profitable.
I have also been incredibly impressed by Tamarack. Dan has built strong relationships that have forged an amazing reputation for the company. That work has made it easy for me to come in and talk with prospective customers. People will take our call and listen to what we have to say because of our strong reputation.
What do you like to do outside of work?

I have two sons: one is a junior at Gustavus Adolphus College and one is a senior at Alexandria High School. Both our boys play basketball, so life outside of work consists of a lot of time spent in gyms watching games. When we’re not court side, especially in the summer, you’ll find us up at our cabin.
At Tamarack we love the outdoors, what are your favorite outdoor hobbies?
I really like getting outside, particularly during the warmer months when I spend time hiking, being in the woods and hunting. When we’re up at the cabin, I enjoy water skiing, paddle boarding and most any lake activity. In the winter, we typically don’t do as much outdoors, but when we get the chance, my wife and I do go cross-country skiing.
